Mafia

Community Rules & Safety

Mafia — a live-voice social deduction game · operated by Innotech
Version 1 · effective 30 July 2026 · part of the Terms of Service

Mafia is a game about lying convincingly to people you can hear. That only works if everyone trusts that the lying stops at the edge of the game. These are the rules that keep that true, and what we do when someone breaks them.

The one rule everything else follows from. Deceive the player, never attack the person. Claim you are the Doctor when you are the Godfather — that is the game working. Insult someone's family, body, accent or faith — that is not part of any game, and it ends your account.

1.What these rules cover

Everything another player can perceive about you: your voice in a game, your display name, the avatar you choose, the preset messages you send, and how you behave towards the people at your table. They apply in every room, public or private, and to moderators as much as players.

2.What is banned

These are not warnings-first offences. Each of them can end an account.

3.Bluffing versus abuse

This is the ambiguity every mafia game runs into, so we will be explicit about where the line sits.

Part of the gameNot part of the game
Claiming a role that is not yoursClaiming to be a moderator or a member of staff
Accusing an innocent player, hard, with convictionInsulting them personally while you do it
"You are lying and I will get you voted out""I will find you"
Betraying someone who trusted youFollowing them into later games to punish them
Mocking a bad play, brieflyMocking a voice, an accent, a stammer, or a gender
Staying silent to look innocentGoing silent to sabotage your own team's game

If you are unsure which side of the table a sentence falls on, the test is simple: would it still make sense if the game ended mid-sentence? If it would, it was never about the game.

4.Report and block

You do not have to absorb bad behaviour and hope we notice it.

5.What we do, and how fast

Every report reaches a person. We aim to look at each one within 72 hours, and sooner for anything involving a threat or a minor.

What we can work from: your report and the reports of others, the game's own record — who was at the table, what happened in it, who was removed and why — and the pattern of an account across many games. What we cannot work from: a recording, because there is none. That is a deliberate privacy choice, and the cost of it is that reports carry the weight.

A moderator's table has one extra tool: a kick, put to a vote of the table. It resolves the room; it is not a substitute for reporting.

6.Penalties

StepWhen
A warningA first, minor breach — rudeness, one instance of mic noise
Temporary suspensionRepeated breaches, abandoning games, disruptive play
Long suspensionHarassment, cheating, a pattern that keeps returning
Permanent ban, no warningThreats, hate, sexual content involving a minor, doxxing, cheating rings, ban evasion, attacks on the service

A ban forfeits unspent coins and is not refunded. We do not sell exemptions: a paying account is banned on the same terms as any other.

7.Appeals

If you think a penalty was wrong, write to [email protected] with the phone number on the account and what you believe happened. Someone other than an automated system will read it. We will not discuss another player's report with you in detail — that protects the person who reported, and it would protect you in their position.

8.Minors and safety

Mafia is for people 16 and over. If you believe a player is younger, report it — that is not telling on someone, it is keeping a stranger-voice-chat away from a child. We remove accounts we find below the age limit.

Never share your real name, school, workplace, address, phone number or social accounts in a game. Nobody in a game needs them, and anybody asking for them is the reason this paragraph exists.

9.If you moderate a table

Running a table is a position of trust and these rules bind you harder, not less.

10.Contact

Reports: the report button in the app, which reaches moderation directly.
Everything else, including appeals and safety concerns: [email protected].
