Delete Your Account
You can delete your Mafia account yourself, from inside the app, in about ten seconds. You do not need to ask us, and you do not need a reason. This page tells you how, and — precisely — what happens to your data afterwards.
Deletion cannot be undone. Your level, statistics, achievements, friends and unspent coins are gone, and coins are not refunded. If you sign up again with the same phone number later, you get a new, empty account — not this one back.
1.In the app
- Open Settings.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm. It happens immediately and you are signed out.
One condition: you cannot delete your account while you are in a game that has not finished — fifteen other people are in it. Leave or finish the game, then delete.
2.Without the app
You do not have to reinstall anything to be deleted. Email [email protected] with the subject Delete my account, and include the phone number registered to the account so we can find it.
We will check that the account is yours before we delete it — usually by sending a code to that number. That check exists so that nobody else can delete your account by sending us an email. We confirm when it is done.
3.What is erased
When the deletion runs, these are overwritten in our database, not merely hidden:
- Your phone number and, if you had set them, your email address and password
- Your display name, which is replaced by an anonymous placeholder
- Your name, bio and any social link on your profile
- Your sign-in tokens and verification codes, so no session survives
- Your push notification token and the link between the account and your devices
- Your country and phone-country fields
And these are severed: every friendship in both directions, every pending friend request, every block, your presence, and your settings. Your account can no longer be signed in to, by you or by anyone else.
4.What survives, and why
We will not tell you that everything vanishes, because it does not — and a policy that promises the impossible is worth less than one that tells you the truth.
| What stays | Why | Still linked to you? |
|---|---|---|
| The record of games you played — roles, votes, outcomes | It is also the record of the fifteen other people at each of those tables. Erasing it would erase their game history too. | No. It shows the anonymous placeholder, not you |
| Purchase and transaction records | Tax, accounting and fraud-prevention law requires us to be able to show that a payment happened | Only as long as the law requires, then removed or anonymised |
| Reports and the record of a ban | So a banned account cannot come back by deleting itself and re-registering | Kept for enforcement only |
| Aggregate statistics | Counts and averages that identify nobody | No |
Nothing that survives contains your phone number, your email, your name or your password. Those are gone.
5.Your phone number afterwards
Your number is released. You — or whoever holds that number next — can register a brand-new account with it, starting from zero. That is a consequence of genuinely removing the number from the old account rather than keeping it on file to block re-use.
6.How long it takes
- In the app: immediately.
- By email: within 30 days of us verifying that the account is yours, normally much sooner. You get a confirmation when it is done.
- Backups: our routine backups roll over within 30 days, after which no copy of the deleted fields remains in them either.
7.Contact
[email protected] — for a deletion request, or to ask what we still hold about you.
The full picture of what we collect and why is in the Privacy Policy; what happens to coins is in the Terms of Service.
